The Two Point Six Challenge
From 26 April, join the rest of the UK for the 2.6 Challenge and support Restored.
Thousands of fundraising events across the UK have been cancelled due to Covid-19 with a devastating impact on charity income that means many charities are facing closure.
At the same time, we know that rates of domestic abuse are on the rise, with calls to national domestic abuse helplines increasing by 125% during this period of lockdown. We will continue to be here to support the many women who are isolated with an abuser, working to increase our training and resources at this time.
The good news is that you can help!
We're joining with thousands of other charities taking part in the 2.6 Challenge. All you need to do is dream up an activity based around the numbers 2.6 or 26 that suits your skills and complete it next week, from Sunday 26 April – when the 40th London Marathon would have taken place.
This could be something as simple as pledging to run or ride 2.6 miles as your daily exercise, holding the plank for 2.6 minutes, to gardening for 26 minutes.
How do I help?
1) Dream up your 2.6 challenge - be as creative as you'd like to be! Let us know what you're planning to do.
2) You can donate £26 (or whatever you can afford) to Restored, or you can set up a fundraising page and ask family and friends help you reach £26.
3) Complete your challenge! You can share it on social media using #TwoPointSixChallenge and tag us on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram.
How you will be helping
£26 will provide two women with a Survivors' Handbook, enabling them to take steps toward a safer future.
£26 a month could equip and train a whole church community to become fully skilled in preventing and addressing domestic abuse, providing a safe space for women.
