Day 15 Girl Child Network - Sierra Leone

The Girl Child Network, inspired by Restored Trustee Betty Makoni, was set up in Sierra Leone by Anita Koroma. It aims to set up girl groups across Sierra Leone for girl empowerment, economic empowerment, raise self esteem. It also specially addresses violence against girls in a culture where girls are lured into relationships with older men in return for the 4 C's - clothes, cash, cell phone and car and sometimes to pay for school fees.

Please pray for:

  • The girls that join the network that they will be inspired, encouraged and able to stand against the culture that objectifies them
  • For Anita as she leads the group for inspiration, encouragement and the strength to continue if often difficult circumstances
  • For the churches in Sierra Leone to grasp the vision and support the work & to end violence against women.
